Music from the 80s was practically made up of bands like, Poison, Bon Jovi, INXS, ect. In this blog, ill mostly be talking about a huge 80s band, Def Leppard.
One of Def Leppards most famous albums, Hysteria, was released on the 3rd of August in 1987. It is the bands best selling album, having sold over 25 million copies worldwide. The album had charted number 1 on the Billboard 200, and the UK albums chart.
It took 3 years before it was released due to many delays during the process of its recording. A big reason the album was delayed was because of the bands drummer, Rick Allen's, car accident, in 1984. Due to the fatal accident, Rick Allen was left without an arm. Hysteria was the bands last album that featured the guitarist, Steve Clark, before his death. The final recordings for the album had taken place in January, 1987, for the song Armageddon It, and the famous song, Pour Some Sugar On Me. Hysteria had topped the charts in Britain in its first week of being released.
Def Leppard wasn't the only band with a best selling album in the 80s. Here are the top 5 best selling albums of the 80s:
